A 22-year-old woman has sued David Copperfield for sexual assault, and claims that the magician threatened her while staying with him on a private island in the Bahamas.
Copperfield's lawyers Angelo Calfo and Patty Eakes have denied the claims and released a statement in response to the allegations.
"This lawsuit is extortion for money, plain and simple," Copperfield's lawyers say. “Unfortunately, false claims like this only hurt the women who really have been abused, women who really need our help."

Hollywood.tv cameras caught up with Ed Winter the Assistant Chief at the Los Angeles County Department Coroner's office Wednesday afternoon as he was leaving the office of Michael Jackson's dermatologist, Dr. Arnold Klein.
Although Winter could not disclose much information he commented briefly regarding the ongoing Michael Jackson death investigation.
"We got some additional information that we requested and they cooperated fully," Winter says. "We received cooperation from Dr. Klein's office."

Paula Abdul announced her departure from "American Idol" earlier this month on her Twitter.com page, and now Abdul's manager David Sonenberg, is speaking out about what the future holds for the former "Idol" judge.
Despite rumors that Abdul could end up back on the Fox reality competition show this season, Sonenberg tells the Los Angeles Times, that there have been "no discussions whatsoever about 'Idol,'" and that although he would "never count anything out," Abdul has other priorities.
Sonenberg tells the LA Times that the 47-year-old star has received many offers for various television appearances and projects, which he feels are in large part due to Abdul's attitude and support towards the young "Idol" hopefuls.

In a new television interview on CNN's "Larry King Live" on Wednesday night, Elizabeth Edwards addresses the paternity questions surrounding her husband, former U.S. Senator John Edwards. "My expectation is that at some point, something happens,” Elizabeth said when asked if she knew whether there would be a paternity test related to her husband's former mistress' Rielle Hunter's young daughter. "I hope that for the sake of this child, that it happens in a quiet way." Elizabeth, who appeared on the show to discuss healthcare in America, also talked about her family life at home, saying: "Things are going fine. We're getting the children ready for the new school year. Everything is going smoothly at my house."

Celine Dion's doctor is revealing details behind the star's pregnancy, according to a new report. People.com reports that Celine's physician, Dr. Zev Rosenwaks, says the star became pregnant for the second time using an IVF (in vitro fertilization) procedure which involved transferring an embryo that was kept frozen for eight years in liquid nitrogen. Celine, 41, kept the embryo frozen from the time she tried to conceive her first child, René-Charles, says People. She decided to try for a second baby in 2007, Dr. Rosenwaks adds.

Jason Schwartzman, star of the quirky Wes Anderson comedy film ‘Rushmore,’ is now a married man. Schwartzman, 29, wed clothing designer Brady Cunningham on July 11, says People.com. The happy couple exchanged "I do's" in their Los Angeles home. "It was a very small ceremony with many family members and close friends," the actor's rep says.

ET was at the Los Angeles police station moments before Dr. Susan Etok arrived for questioning in related to the death investigation of Michael Jackson. Dr. Etok claims that the King of Pop asked her to supply him with a number of drugs, including Demerol and Diprivan, but she refused. "They just want to basically get a background picture as to what kind of happened to Michael and everybody else that was involved," the doctor says of her trip to the police station. Dr. Etok said she received death threats Tuesday night, telling her not to come and talk to the police. "I'm not really taking them seriously," she says of the threats.

The men of 'Jackass' have braved many outrageous stunts, but now one cast member will take on another challenging role, fatherhood.
Johnny Knoxville announced on his blog that he will be welcoming a baby with girlfriend Naomi Nelson. "Woohoo!!! We have been together a few years now and felt it was time to start reproducing (if you know what I mean)," the 'Jackass' star said of the news. "Anyway, we are excited as all hell, and can’t wait ’til the little booger gets here."
Knoxville has a daughter named Madison from a previous marriage, who he says is excited about welcoming a new sibling. "[She] has already started becoming a big sister, too, and is helping pick out clothes, strollers, and beds for her new little sister or brother."
