Following the tragic news of Senator Edward M. Kennedy's passing, former President George H. W. Bush offers his condolences.
Bush released the following statement:
"Barbara and I were deeply saddened to learn Ted Kennedy lost his valiant battle with cancer. While we didn’t see eye-to-eye on many political issues through the years, I always respected his steadfast public service -- so much so, in fact, that I invited him to my library in 2003 to receive the Bush Award for Excellence in Public Service. Ted Kennedy was a seminal figure in the United States Senate -- a leader who answered the call to duty for some 47 years, and whose death closes a remarkable chapter in that body’s history.

In the wake of Michael Jackson's death and the alleged questionable medical practices surrounding it, the late King of Pop's friend Dr. Susan Etok has written a letter to the White House asking for stricter consequences for doctors who "over-prescribe and mis-prescribe." "I wrote to President Obama requesting that there were harsher measures against people found to over-prescribe and mis-prescribe," Dr. Etok confirms to ET. "What really killed Michael was the doctors -- the doctors that were prescribing him medications, over-prescribing." Dr. Etok does not single out any one specific doctor. Rather, she writes to Mr. Obama, "Due to his vast wealth and celebrity status, Michael was the victim of manipulation by means of his addiction. It is my belief that no individual Doctor is responsible for Michael's death, rather, a catalogue of Doctors who were enlisted/aided by a collection of organizations that had an interest in Michael's finances."
