William Shatner Expresses Sympathy for Lost ‘Boston Legal’ Co-star

William Shatner expressed his sorrow over the loss of his former "Boston Legal" co-star Justin Mentell.

Shatner tweeted Tuesday, "I'm deeply saddened to hear about Justin Mentell. There’s no telling how far up the ladder he may have climbed. My sympathies to his family."

Mentell, the 27-year-old actor who played attorney Garrett Wells on "Boston Legal," was reportedly killed in a car accident in Iowa County, Wisconsin on Monday morning. Mentell's Jeep went down a steep embankment and hit two trees off Highway 39, the sheriff's department told the Associated Press. According to the AP, he was not wearing a seat belt.
