Watch: Taye Diggs Reads to Real Dogs!

"Private Practice" star Taye Diggs helped celebrate the release of a new book about dogs by reading aloud to a crowd of pooches while hosting an event in the Meatpacking District of Manhattan.

Real dogs from all walks of life (and their human owners) listened to Taye read excerpts from the ALPO Real Dogs Eat Meat Handbook, featuring humorous stories written in the voice of real dogs (or "paw-thors").

"With this book we kind of just want to bring it back to the basics, and treat dogs the way they should really be treated – probably the way they want to be treated, which is to be loved, to be exercised, to be fed," Taye says.
