Stars Remember John Forsythe at the Races
John Forsythe was remembered at the Hollywood Park racetrack on Sunday, with such entertainment industry contemporaries as Mel Brooks, Dick Van Patten and Tippi Hedren, Cheryl Ladd and a many members of the "Dynasty" cast paying their respects in grand style to the late "Dynasty" star, who passed away on April 1 at the age of 92.
Forsythe was passionate about thoroughbred racing, and a well-respected and popular member -- and one-time vice president -- of Hollywood Park's board of directors. In fact, the voice of Charlie in "Charlie's Angels" once said he would rather win the Kentucky Derby than an Academy Award, and was involved in the sport for decades in numerous capacities.
A day that went exactly the way Forsythe would have wanted it, according to his rep, there were no speeches, per the star's request, and the second race was dedicated to his memory. The guest list was limited to close family and friends, including some from "Charlie's Angels" and "Dynasty." Although there were some tears, laughter and wonderful memories were the order of the day.
