Stars for a Cause Present Check to American Red Cross for Haitian Relief
Stars for a Cause president George Braunstein was proud to present a check in the amount of $112,400 to Charlie Sardou of the American Red Cross after the organization auctioned off a vehicle that hundreds of celebrities, including Oprah Winfrey and Tom Hanks, took the time to sign.
SFAC and Leake Auction raised the money for American Red Cross Haitian Relief with the auctioning of a Chrysler 300 Haiti edition. A local Oklahoma business purchased the car.
"This was a very special auction with the addition of the Chrysler 300 Haiti," stated Richard Sevenoaks, president of Leake Auction Company. "Eager crowds gathered each day just to see this car. We were thrilled to partner with Stars for A Cause, Chrysler and the American Red Cross to raise money for such an important cause. While the Chrysler was being auctioned, a box was passed around to collect cash donations. $2,400 was donated. People have really opened their hearts to help Haiti."
