Sheriff’s Department to Review Alleged Mel Gibson Tapes

ET has learned the latest from the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department regarding the explosive tapes, purported to be of Mel Gibson lashing out against the mother of his child, Oksana Grigorieva.

The Sheriff's Department does not have the power to subpoena the tapes, but it will review them as part of their domestic violence investigation of the star.

According to RadarOnline.com, the man purported to be Gibson on the tape admits to hitting the woman heard on the recording (said to be Grigorieva) and twice threatens to kill her; after she says he hit her and broke her teeth, he replies, "You deserved it."
