Ricky Martin: Memoir Recalls Erased Memories

Singer Ricky Martin is set to release his autobiography in November and says writing the book was a great spiritual journey.

The autobiography -- entitled Me -- will be released in both English and Spanish on November 2, the Grammy Award-winning artist said in a press release Thursday. The Puerto Rican singer has said that preparing to write the book was one of the reasons he decided to reveal earlier this year that he is gay.

"Writing this book allowed me to explore the different paths and experiences that have led me to be who I am today. I've had to tie up loose ends that I’d never attempted to tie up before, to work deeply into memories that were already erased from my mind. Allowing myself to do this was not easy, but once I started an incredible spiritual healing began..... and I wanted to share my sense of discovery," Martin said.
