Report: Steve Phillips to Enter Treatment Facility

A rep for former New York Mets General Manager Steve Phillips -- who was fired by ESPN on Sunday night -- has announced that Phillips is entering a treatment facility following reports that he had an affair with a female production assistant.

Phillips rep said the baseball analyst is going to a facility to "address his personal issues," the Associated Press reports.

Earlier today, a spokesperson for ESPN released the following statement to ET: "[Phillips'] ability to be an effective representative for ESPN has been significantly and irreparably damaged, and it became evident it was time to part ways."
