Radar Report: Mel Gibson Told Ex ‘I Wasn’t Safe For You’ in Text Message

Following the release of several audio recordings by Radar Online of Mel Gibson lashing out at his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, the website reports that they also have a text message from the actor that could play a part in Gibson's domestic violence investigation.

According to Radar, the text reads: "Oksana, I wasn't safe for you last night." The text was reportedly sent the day after Gibson allegedly got into a physical altercation with Grigorieva while she was holding their baby Lucia. Radar reports that Gibson sent more texts, asking Grigorieva to see her so that he could make amends. Grigorieva responded, in part, according to Radar, "I have two broken front teeth and a concussion.  I can not c u today, I'm hurting." Gibson replied to that text, according to Radar, "Did you get them fixed yet?" He then repeated his request to see her.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that they are investigating extortion allegations against Grigorieva. Meanwhile, Gibson is also under investigation for suspicion of domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon, and the headline-grabbing audio tapes are to be reviewed by forensic detectives.
