President Obama Accepts Nobel Peace Prize
Barack Obama and wife Michelle Obama traveled to Oslo, Norway for the president to receive the Nobel Peace Prize on Thursday.
In his acceptance speech he acknowledged, "I am the Commander in Chief…in the midst of two wars." In an effort to achieve peace and prevent attacks, Obama defended his decision to deploy additional troops.
He said, "The belief that peace is desirable is rarely enough to achieve it…Peace entails sacrifice." The president explained that the troops are honored as "wagers of peace."
