President Barack Obama and First Lady Set TV Rules
President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama aren't watching "Jersey Shore," but they admit that the First Family does make time for television.
The parents of first daughters Malia, 11, and Sasha, 8, tell People magazine that they only allow their girls to watch Nickelodeon and the Disney Channel. "They can only watch the kid-TV channels for the most part, because you just never know," says Mrs. Obama. The president adds, "Unless they want to watch football with me, which they're always welcome. But somehow they haven't been drawn to that yet."
Mr. and Mrs. Obama say they tend to be drawn to sports programming in the morning. The couple tells the publication that they tune in to ESPN's "Sports Center" while working out. I tend to be much more informed about sports than I'd like," Mrs. Obama says while laughing. The president chimes in, saying, "No, that's not true. ... Michelle actually knows her sports, which is important in our marriage."
