Nightmare in North Korea: Laura and Lisa Ling Remember
On March 17, 2009, two American journalists were seized at the North Korean border and accused of being spies. For Laura Ling -- the sister of journalist and former "View" co-host Lisa Ling -- and for her cameraperson Euna Lee, the nightmare was just beginning.
Now safely back on U.S. soil after a global, headlining-making story featuring former President Bill Clinton's intervention, Laura and Lisa have written about the ordeal in Somewhere Inside: One Sister's Captivity in North Korea and the Other's Fight to Bring Her Home, out now, and are recounting their story to ET's Mark Steines.
"[A year ago today] I was being interrogated, grilled, every single day not knowing what my fate was going to be; if I would ever see my sister or my family again," says Laura.
