Molly Ringwald on Her Brat Pack Reunion and Balancing Work and Family
Former teen queen Molly Ringwald is now a busy mom and starring in her third season of "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" on ABC Family, and she tells ET just how she manages to balance work and her own family – and the thrill of reuniting with her fellow Brat Packers at the Oscars!
"It's always a little bit like a family reunion," she says of seeing fellow Brat Packers such as Ally Sheedy, Anthony Michael Hall and Judd Nelson at this year's special Oscar tribute to John Hughes. "We don't get to see each other very often because we all lead different lives and live in different places … so it's always nice to get to catch up."
On the touching tribute to her late 'Sixteen Candles,' 'The Breakfast Club' and 'Pretty in Pink' mentor, she says, "I was just so excited and honored to be there, and really touched that the Academy chose to recognize his contribution to filmmaking and incredible impact that he's had on the world through his films. … And to also have the Hughes family there, it's been a really difficult year for them, and to get that recognition I think was really important for them as well."
