Marie Osmond Named Woman of the Year
People might be surprised to learn that when Marie Osmond was growing up, she wanted to be a ballerina. The ex-"Dancing with the Stars" contestant told ET all about it when we caught up with her at the Nevada Ballet Theater Black & White Ball at the Paris Casino & Hotel in Las Vegas, where Marie was honored as one of the non-profit organization's Women of the Year for 2010.
"I think the most important thing is the arts are related whether you sing, whether you dance, whatever," she says. "What is going on in Haiti … it brought joy to my heart to see these people going through this incredible sorrow, and what did they do? They formed circles and danced and sang and lifted their spirits."
Marie, who is one of the co-founders of the Children's Miracle Network, says her charity is also extending a helping hand to those in need on the earthquake-damaged island.
