Lisa Ling’s Sister to be Released from North Korean Prison
Journalists Euna Lee and Laura Ling have been issued a "special pardon" from North Korea after they were convicted and imprisoned by the North Korean government for allegedly entering the country illegally last March.
North Korean leader Kim Jong IL ordered the women be released from a labor prison following a meeting with former U.S. President Bill Clinton, the Associated Press reports.
The release of the women was said to be part of North Korea's "humanitarian and peaceloving policy," the AP cites from the Korean Central News Agency.
