Jon Hamm: In Love But No Plans for Marriage

"Mad Men" hunk Jon Hamm opens up to Parade magazine about past hardships in his life and reveals which family member closely models his character Don Draper.

In a wide-ranging interview appearing in Parade inside newspapers August 1, Hamm recounts the loss of his parents at an early age (His mother died when he was 10; his father followed 10 years later).

"Losing both parents at a young age gave me a sense that you can't really control life -- so you’d better live it while it's here. I stopped believing in a storybook existence a long time ago. All you can do is push in a direction and see what comes of it."
