Joe Jackson Withdraws Bid for Monthly Allowance to Pursue Wrongful Death Lawsuit
Michael Jackson's father, Joe Jackson, is withdrawing his request to receive a monthly allowance of more than $15,000 from his late son's estate.
The Associated Press reports that, according to a court filing, the Jackson patriarch is dropping his bid in order to pursue his wrongful death lawsuit against Dr. Conrad Murray over his son's death one year ago. The filing indicates that Mr. Jackson may renew his request for a monthly allowance in the future if necessary.
Joe Jackson was omitted from Michael Jackson's will, but requested a monthly stipend last November.
