Health Care Directive Reveals Gary Coleman Wanted to Prolong His Life
In the latest developments on the death of Gary Coleman, a health care directive has been obtained by ET that reveals what Coleman wanted when it came to end-of-life decisions.
According to the papers just filed by Coleman’s ex-wife Shannon Price, the “Diff’rent Strokes” star signed a health care directive dated October 12, 2006 and checked the box that he wanted his life prolonged. The document reads: "I want my life to be prolonged as long as possible within the limits of generally accepted health care standards."
The document also states that Coleman designated Price to oversee his medical treatment if he was unable to do so himself. The papers read: "If my agent (Price) cannot determine the treatment choice I would make under the particular circumstances, then my agent should make the choice based on what my agent believes to be in my best interest."
