Before she joined "Mad Men"'s Jon Hamm for the opening number, "Hot in Cleveland" star Betty got a chance to plant a kiss on "George Clooney" when she stepped up to the ET Emmy platform. Mary presented her with a cardboard cut-out of George, and Betty kissed it amorously, before joking, "Now I have to go make do with Jon Hamm!"

Joel was thrilled to be interviewed by Mary at the Emmys, saying, "This is like a rite of passage, ... that I'm talking to you on a red carpet."
