Dr. Drew: Pain Meds May Have Led DJ AM to Relapse
Dr. Drew Pinksy of “Celebrity Rehab” claims that pain medications prescribed to Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein during his recovery from a 2008 plane crash could have opened the doors for a relapse.
Pinsky told the Associated Press, “It very slowly and subtly reawakens addiction. I’m not saying it was inappropriately prescribed, I’m saying he didn’t know the risks.”
The AP says pain medication was prescribed to the disc jockey following two skin graft surgeries he underwent as part of his recovery from a tragic plane crash last year. According to the news service, law enforcement called to the scene found a crack pipe and prescription pills in the apartment where Goldstein was found dead Friday evening.
