Alana Stewart on Farrah’s Legacy: ‘In Our Hearts Forever’

June 25 marks the one-year anniversary of Farrah Fawcett's passing, and her close friend Alana Stewart sits down with ET to talk about her late friend and her legacy.

"She was a fighter, and she usually won her battles," says Alana, referring to the anal cancer that took her dear friend one year ago. "It's so hard to believe. It doesn't seem possible. … It's kind of one big surreal experience. She was such a special unique person. There was no one like her, nor will there ever be. … I think she gave hope and encouragement to so many people that were struggling with cancer and to the loved ones of people that were struggling with cancer. I think she'll be remembered in our hearts forever."

Reflecting on the journey Alana took with Farrah, she shares, "I gave a lot to Farrah during the time that we were together, because I loved her and I wanted to, but she gave far more to me. This experience with her has changed my life, and given me a higher purpose in life.
