Joran van der Sloot has reportedly told a Dutch newspaper that it is his own fault that he's in a Peruvian prison, saying that he believes that the FBI lured him to Peru in order to extradite him to the United States on extortion charges. Joran is the main suspect in the killing of 21-year-old Stephany Flores in Lima, and is also a person of interest in the 2005 disappearance of American Natalee Holloway in Aruba. He has also been charged with extorting $25,000 from Holloway's mother, Beth Twitty. Joran van der Sloot now claims he was tricked into confessing to the murder of Stephany Flores Ramirez in Peru. The Associated Press reports that Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf interviewed the 22-year-old in his prison cell, where he reportedly recanted his murder confession.
