Gary Coleman On Life Support

Former child star Gary Coleman is on life support at a Utah hospital, after losing consciousness mid-afternoon on Thursday. A hospital representative tells ET that Coleman suffered an intracranial hemorrhage on Wednesday night. After being immediately taken to a local hospital for treatment, he was transferred to another hospital for tests and treatment. By mid-morning on Thursday, Coleman was conscious and lucid, but by early afternoon, he began slipping in and out of consciousness and his condition worsened. Oscar-winner Louis Gossett Jr. says he's delighted by the fanfare surrounding his new autobiography, the aptly titled An Actor and a Gentleman. "The reaction to this book, not just sales but conversations at book-signings, is the best award I've ever received," says the 74-year-old star, who in 1983 won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for 'An Officer and a Gentleman.' "The people seem more interested in my work to eradicate differences between races than they are in Hollywood inside stuff. Simon Monjack Buried Next to Brittany Murphy

Brittany Murphy's husband Simon Monjack was laid to rest at his funeral in Los Angeles on Thursday. Approximately 75 mourners gathered for the private service, which was held in the same memorial chapel where the late Murphy was eulogized, says People.com. Following the service, Monjack was buried next to Murphy at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The site says a picture of the couple was placed by Monjack's casket, and the ceremony concluded with a recording of Murphy, accompanied by Monjack on piano, singing “Smile.” Read More »

Barbara Walters’ Recovery From Heart Surgery Going ‘Very Well’

Barbara Walters is sharing how she's feeling while recovering from the heart-valve replacement surgery she underwent earlier this month. Walters had planned on emceeing an event honoring Placido Domingo at El Museo del Barrio's annual gala at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City on Thursday. Instead, the recuperating "View" co-host wrote a letter to the famed tenor, which was read aloud at the ceremony by fashion designer Oscar de la Renta. "Dear Placido: Only an injured heart would keep me from being with you tonight," Walters said in her letter to the special lifetime achievement award honoree. "You may have heard that I have had recent surgery to replace a faulty heart valve. I am doing very well but not quite ready to jump rope or go out. How I wish I could say these things in person." Update: Gary Coleman Still in ICU

Gary Coleman was hospitalized in critical condition in Utah on Wednesday, and now ET has details behind his hospitalization. Coleman, 42, is hospitalized at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, a spokesperson for the facility tells ET. Coleman's lawyer tells ET that the former child star fell and bumped his head and is still in critical condition in an intensive care unit. Read More »

Country star Mindy McCready is reportedly in good condition and good spirits after a hospital stay and a related 911 call made headlines earlier this week. A publicity rep for the country star says, "To date, we have not received the medical reports to accurately document or verify the diagnosis (or reason) for Mindy's hospitalization or the statements that have been made. What is factual is that Mindy injured her foot while at her mother's residence in Ft. Myers, FL (while visiting with her son, Zander) and was hospitalized. "We have not been provided official information or documentation to support statements that Mindy tried to commit suicide, nor have we been given reason or evidence to believe Mindy was hospitalized due to an overdose. Listen Now: Simon Monjack 911 Call

ET has obtained the dramatic 911 call made last Sunday night, when the late Brittany Murphy's widower Simon Monjack was found unresponsive at their family home. In the audio, a woman identifies herself as Monjack's mother-in-law and tells the dispatcher that Monjack was not breathing, and then she feverishly attempts to resuscitate him before help arrives. Pending further investigation, police told ET that detectives believe Monjack died of natural causes. Ed Winter of the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office told ET that prescription drugs were found that belonged to Monjack. Late wife Brittany Murphy died on December 20, 2009 from pneumonia, with other conditions contributing but not directly related to the immediate cause of death being iron deficiency anemia and multiple drug intoxication.
