Sheriff Calls ‘Balloon Boy’ Incident a Hoax

Colorado law officials say they have reason to believe that the "Balloon Boy" incident may have all been a hoax.

A six-year-old boy named Falcon Heene was thought to be inside a flying Mylar balloon on Thursday but was later found in the garage of his family's home.

In a press conference on Sunday, Larimer County police officials said they are examining phone calls to get a time line of when the Heene family notified 911 and when they contacted the FAA and the media. In addition, law enforcement officials are looking into whether the experimental aircraft could actually launch the child into the air.
