Mindy McCready: ‘Celebrity Rehab’ Saved My Life

Mindy McCready has had her share of ups and downs in the public spotlight, and our own Mark Steines exclusively sat down with the best-selling country music star, who says that "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" saved her life.

"A lot of people have said, 'Was that about TV for you … or was it therapy?' And I can't speak for everyone, but for me it changed my life. It saved my life," she says. "Dr. Drew said so many amazing things to me that really made me think I really, truly want to know what was wrong with me, what was going on inside my head, why was I acting the way that I was?"

Mindy's "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" show profile states, "Although she was arrested and jailed for trying to buy OxyContin with a false prescription and attempted suicide with an overdose of drugs and alcohol, Mindy believes her only true addiction is to violent relationships. … Mindy had a very violent association with aspiring country singer Billy McKnight."
