Gillette Distances Itself From Tiger Woods
As the Tiger Woods headlines continue and alleged mistresses keep coming out of the woodwork, Gillette is pulling away from the pro golfer, saying they are "limiting his role in [their] marketing program."
"In the midst of a difficult and unfortunate situation, we respect the action Tiger is taking to restore the trust of his family, friends and fans," the company said in a statement. "We fully support him stepping back from his professional career and taking the time he needs to do what matters most. We wish him and his family the best. As Tiger takes a break from the public eye, we will support his desire for privacy by limiting his role in our marketing programs."
Meanwhile, the consulting firm Accenture Ltd announced over the weekend it has officially cut ties with Woods, saying, "After careful consideration and analysis, the company has determined that [Woods] is no longer the right representative for its advertising."
