Dennis Quaid to Launch Family Foundation

After nearly losing his newborn twins to a medical mishap, Dennis Quaid is on the forefront of change in patient care.

The Hollywood dad is teaming up with American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) to announce a new alert system and training program -- as well as his own family foundation.

Quaid is announcing his support for ASHP's Pharmacy Technician Initiative and the new National Alert Network (NAN). The Pharmacy Technician Initiative will secure standardized requirements for pharmacy technician training, and NAN will help prevent dangerous and repeated medication errors.
