Rip Torn plans to apply for a form of probation, according to the Associated Press. The actor was arrested following an alleged burglary attempt in January. The Emmy winner supposedly broke into a bank in Connecticut while drunk and armed. He claims he thought he had entered his home. Torn, 79 years old, is expected to report to Litchfield Superior Court today to attend a hearing during which he'll request an accelerated rehabilitation, says the AP. The program eradicates the charges upon completion of a probationary period for first-time, nonviolent offenders.

The Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska is responding to Levi Johnston's announcement that he is going to run for his seat, which will be vacant in 2012.

Levi, who famously fathered former Republican vice presidential candidate (and former Wasilla mayor) Sarah Palin's grandson, is set to run in the race to be held on October 4, 2011.
