Less than a week after the wedding of his only daughter, former U.S. President Bill Clinton broke ground on a new shelter in Haiti following his Clinton Foundation's $1 million pledge to improve hurricane safety.
The new shelter is a communal hurricane shelter at the École Communautaire Sainte Thérèse de Darbonne school in Léogâne, Haiti. According to the Clinton Foundation, funds from various sources will enable dozens of shelters to be built, with the buildings operating as schools when there is no storm risk.
The Clinton Foundation reports that following this year's devastating earthquake in Haiti, 1 to 2 million people are living in temporary housing and camps in the Caribbean country. Daily Variety interviewed Mary exclusively regarding her exit from ET, and she told the venerable trade publication, "I don't know what I'm going to do. I'm not using the 'R' word. I have no intentions of retiring. There are other opportunities out there."

Exclusive video: It was a royal flush at Graceland as Prince Albert of Monaco visited the palatial palace of the King of Rock n' Roll in Memphis, Tennessee on Thursday.
The son of the late actress Grace Kelly, Prince Albert, put the musical and pop cultural shrine on his travel itinerary because "we wanted to pay our respects" to Elvis Presley. He was accompanied by his bride-to-be Charlene Wittstock, an Olympic swimmer from South Africa. They plan to love one another tenderly and forever upon exchanging vows in July 2011.
"He was such an extraordinary figure of his time and our time," Prince Albert remarked about the "Blue Suede Shoes" singer. "His legacy was tremendous in terms of the music that he created, in terms of his films, in terms of him as an entertainment personality…[The] generosity that he showed toward others was simply remarkable."
