Bret Michaels Stuns Audience with Surprise Performance on ‘American Idol’

Less than one week after he was admitted to a hospital for suffering a "warning stroke" that led to the discovery of a hole in his heart, Poison frontman Bret Michaels made a surprise performance on Wednesday's "American Idol" finale. Michaels, along with former "Idol" contestant Casey James, performed the Poison hit "Every Rose Has Its Thorn." Taking the stage, Michaels received a standing ovation from the audience before he even emerged from the shadows. Most TV and movie stars want the full attention of their audience, but Betty White has a new project that's putting people to sleep! Betty has partnered with SleepBetter.org and the Carpenter Company for the Bedtime Stories Project to raise awareness on how a bedtime story can help kids get a good night's rest. Wednesday in Los Angeles, she read stories to local school children, emphasizing the need to help kids wind down and drift off to sleep. Heather Locklear Avoids Criminal Charges in Hit-and-Run Case

Heather Locklear won't face criminal charges after she was accused of knocking over a "no parking" sign and leaving the scene last month in Thousand Oaks, California. A rep from the office of the Ventura County District Attorney tells ET: "Physical evidence established that the vehicle involved in the collision was a 2005 black BMW sedan registered to Richard and Heather Sambora of Westlake Village. "Insufficient evidence exists to establish who the driver of the vehicle was at the time of the collision. As a result, no criminal charges will be filed." Read More »

Art Linkletter Dies

"People Are Funny" and "House Party" host Art Linkletter has passed away," according to the Associated Press. He was 97. The TV personality, who was also famous for his book of children's sayings, Kids Say the Darndest Things!, died Wednesday at his home in Los Angeles.
