Exclusive: Leif Garrett Busted For Black Tar Heroin in Downtown Los Angeles

By Mary Murphy Entertainment Tonight has confirmed exclusively that teen heartthrob Leif Garrett was arrested for possession of black tar heroin by L.A. County Sheriff’s detectives at a Metrolink station near Pershing Square at 11:20 a.m. on Monday. The detectives, who recognized the former child star, approached him after observing him shaking and sweating on the platform waiting to board a train. Garrett told the detectives he was “nervous around people in law enforcement because he used to be a heroin addict,” L.A. Sheriff’s Dept. spokesperson Steve Whitmore said. Pro Golfer Tom Watson: Tiger Woods Needs to Clean Up His Act

Longtime pro golfer Tom Watson offers up his opinion of fellow athlete Tiger Woods, telling USA Today he thinks Tiger needs to own up to his actions on and off the golf course. "I'll let the cat out of the bag," Watson told the newspaper while attending the Dubai Desert Classic. "Tiger has to take ownership of what he has done. He must get his personal life in order. I think that's what he's trying to do. And when he comes back he has to show some humility to the public." Watson, 60, said that his experience with Woods on the green was that he exemplified some bad manners. He hopes this will change when the pro golfer returns to the sport in April. William Shatner Expresses Sympathy for Lost ‘Boston Legal’ Co-star

William Shatner expressed his sorrow over the loss of his former "Boston Legal" co-star Justin Mentell. Shatner tweeted Tuesday, "I'm deeply saddened to hear about Justin Mentell. There’s no telling how far up the ladder he may have climbed. My sympathies to his family." Mentell, the 27-year-old actor who played attorney Garrett Wells on "Boston Legal," was reportedly killed in a car accident in Iowa County, Wisconsin on Monday morning. Mentell's Jeep went down a steep embankment and hit two trees off Highway 39, the sheriff's department told the Associated Press. According to the AP, he was not wearing a seat belt. Read More »

Judge Issues Second Notice of Hearing to Former Edwards Aide

A North Carolina Superior Court judge has issued a Second Notice of Hearing to John Edwards' former aide, Andrew Young and his wife Cheri Young, requiring the two to appear in court and hand over items requested in a temporary restraining order (including "personal" video of Edwards' ex-mistress Rielle Hunter). The court documents, filed Tuesday, claim that the Youngs have failed to turn over items to the Sheriff as required by the restraining order and that "it appears that at least one of the defendants has left the state." The papers go on to say that "there is probable cause to believe that both defendants are in civil contempt of this court for refusal to comply with [the] temporary restraining order...." Tyler Perry Ups Haiti Pledge to $1 Million

Movie heavyweight Tyler Perry has upped his pledge to victims of the Haitian earthquake to $1 million. He explained in a message posted Tuesday on his Web site: "I have raised my personal donation from $250,000 to $1 million. I did this realizing that after the next big story comes along, the news media will pack up and leave the people of Haiti to fend for themselves. They always do. So my plan is to do just what I did when I built those 20 houses for the survivors of Hurricane Katrina. Sometimes it's best to wait for the frenzy to pass to really be effective. Haiti needs help now and there are a lot of people doing that, but they will also need help in the coming months." Redmond O’Neal to Be Released from Jail

Redmond O'Neal, the troubled son of Ryan O'Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett, will reportedly be released from jail to attend a drug treatment center. The Associated Press reports that a Los Angeles judge has ruled that the 25-year-old will be sent to a rehab facility and be placed back on probation. O'Neal has been in jail since December 29 for violating terms of his probation, says the report. Read More »

Elizabeth Edwards Filed Report Claiming John Took Her Wallet

An incident report filed in 2008 has Elizabeth Edwards claiming that her husband and former Senator John Edwards took her wallet following an argument at their North Carolina home. Click HERE to view papers. The document filed with police says that Elizabeth and her husband got into a spat when he arrived home to find the kids were at dinner with their babysitter. The papers than state that Elizabeth said there was no need for John to be at the house. After a minor argument in one of the adjoining closets, Elizabeth said in the report that she witnessed John taking her green wallet from the kitchen and leaving the house. She then told police that he drove down to the barn, stayed for ten minutes and then left the estate.
