EA SPORTS, the videogame company behind the popular Tiger Woods PGA Tour franchise, is speaking out about the golf great's public apology on Friday.
"It was good to see Tiger address the public today, and we're supportive of his focus toward family and rebuilding his life," said Peter Moore, president of EA SPORTS. "He remains one of the greatest athletes in history, and as a long-standing partner, we look forward to seeing Tiger back on the golf course when the time is right for him and his family."
Woods' sponsors such as Gillette and Tag Heuer have scaled back the use of the sports star's image in their advertising campaigns, while AT&T and Accenture have outright dropped Woods.

Tiger Woods faced the press in person for the first time since his infamous car accident in November, offering a slew of apologies for his "selfish behavior" -- and a surprising announcement about his future in golf. "Every one of you have good reason to be critical of me," he said from PGA headquarters. "I want to say to each of you ... I am deeply sorry for my irresponsible and selfish behavior." Addressing reports of multiple mistresses, Tiger said, "I was unfaithful, I had affairs, I cheated. I am the only person to blame."

Comedian Bob Newhart is gearing up to celebrate 50 years of his storied showbiz career. Following his anticipated press conference that is to take place on Friday morning, Tiger Woods has plans to report back to rehab.
PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem wrote a letter Thursday explaining the timing of events to take place in the days to come. According to the Associated Press, the note reads in part: "As we understand it, Tiger's therapy called for a week's break at this time during which he has spent a few days with his children and then will make his statement before returning. Accordingly, there was very little flexibility in the date for the announcement."
The golfer will speak during a golf tournament sponsored by Accenture, the first company to drop Woods.
