Howard Stern sidekick Artie Lange has been released from the hospital following a reported suicide attempt on Saturday.
A New Jersey police detective tells the Associated Press that Lange underwent surgery for self-inflicted stab wounds to the abdomen. The detective says the 42-year-old comic was taken to the hospital Saturday after his mother found him on the floor of his home.
Lange’s publicist declined comment and requested that his client’s privacy be respected. Howard Stern and co-host Robin Quivers said on the air Thursday that their thoughts are with Lange, his mother and his sister.

ET is with Priscilla and Lisa Marie Presley and family as they commemorate the day that Elvis would have turned 75.
The ladies celebrated at Elvis' famous home, Graceland, where thousands of fans traveled to join them. Priscilla said of the occasion, "You go into his life and what he's accomplished... and you can only imagine what he'd be doing at this age."
